DO-ING – NOT EDUCATION…

You can imagine various behaviors attached to certain feelings like train cars to the locomotive. A feeling comes and with it comes an unconscious response. On the other hand, feelings are attached to various triggers – internal or external. There is something we say to ourselves or see in our mind or something we hear on the outside or see on the outside that triggers the feeling. Stuttering is an unconscious behavior. Whatever it does – makes us switch to another mode of speaking, where we see or hear words before they are spoken, or whether it is a tension in the vocal cords and throat, which makes us switch to another mode of speaking – it is not that important. The key is that the brain does something in some situations and it doe! sn’t do it in other situations. Barbara’s training gives people understanding what natural speech looks like, feels like and sounds like. before I learned about her theory I experienced relapses as some mysterious power that comes over me. Now I know what the mind is doing. It switches to a control mode, when awareness of the word comes before it is said. However, to me this knowledge alone would not be so effective, because there was a feeling that triggered the behavior. This is where NLP and hypnosis are so useful. They can help disconnect the train from the locomotive. Or connect them to a different locomotive. What if a trigger that caused you to be anxious, now caused you to be aware, relaxed and fully present? What if a trigger that previously created the tension now started creating relaxation. Human brain can be re-trained. What was scary can become fun. What caused a feeling of inferiority can cause a feeling of resilience and pride. If people can change your inne! r state, who is in control of your mind? And isn’t it fun to learn how to drive your own bus, rather then be a screaming passenger?
