But I don’t hold back when I am speaking (from a stuttering point of view) so I haven’t had any problems with stuttering, and people always comment that I appear to be really relaxed. However, I don’t feel that I am in a dominant position when giving a speech – I feel that it is more an interaction between me and the audience, and they are there to support me. I am lucky that my Toastmasters club is quite small and very friendly! So I am working on establishing more of a connection, eye contact, pausing, etc. I did my Speech 2 last week and it was definitely easier than the first speech. So hopefully the increased confidence will also affect other areas of my life and areas in which I hold back more.
